Copper Face Mask (1990)
  METALS - FABRICATION
The class assignment was to make a mask that reflected from an ancient civilization or culture. A tribal mask worn for spiritual cere-monial rituals was my choice. The mask is contructed from several pieces of metal. Items needed for this project: 1 copper square, copper wire, leather straps, 2 thin copper strips, and pieces of soldering metal.
I decided to create a mask based off the face of a college boyfriend. He had strong facial features perfect for a fearsome and intense mask. First I drew an outline of his face onto the copper square. Next I cut out the pieces Ineeded from the copper square. Then I drilled 2 holes big enough to pass a thin serrated blade through, reclamped it in handsaw, and proceeded to cut out the eyes of the mask. Apply plenty of heat with hand torch then
