PAINTINGS - THEATRE SCENE

The College Theatre Professor asked us to paint a nature scene from a photograph. The overall timeline for this project was about 2 weeks, due to the canvas size.
I chose to work with a scheme of orange
and blue compliments. The goal was to achieve a rustic landscape appeal. I recall that week, an announcement of Jim Henson's passing on the radio. This painting will always have this attached memory. Henson was notorious for creating the Muppet Show and the movie "The Dark Crystal". It had a rich scene environment with special characters and a twisting plot of good versus evil. A unique and very inspiring production from the 80s.
